Music puts you in a good mood: Dessau-Roßlauer Musikmobil plays for residents of old people’s and nursing homes

Dessau-Roßlau –

Nothing is with a sip of mulled wine or the crunchy bratwurst: Last week, the little Christmas stroll through the garden of the Roßlau geriatric care home “An der Rossel” fell into the water. “Everything was so nicely prepared, now both our residents and nursing staff were sad,” recalls facility manager Rainer Körner.

But now the old ladies and gentlemen have box seats, either on the ground floor “parquet” or in the “tier” on the upper floor of the home. Curtain up! With a strikingly painted car, the music mobile from the music store Mathias Wieczorek in Roßlau is on the road from Monday to Wednesday in Dessau-Roßlau to deliver musical Christmas greetings to nursing homes.

Familiar Christmas songs come out and into your ears

“It’s not a big program. Just a small gesture as a thank you and a bow to our old people: Because without their generation we would not have achieved our current level of prosperity, ”said Wieczorek before the performance. They sing live and play the guitar. Singer Mathias Wieczorek is at the side of Kreischorleiter Peter Arndt and amplifies the singing voice compared to the sound machine plugged into the large trunk.

Christmassy songs come out and into your ears. “Kling, Glöckchen, Klingelingeling” is the beginning and puts the senior citizens on their chairs to hum and sway along.

After the applause, many voices are firm and brave enough to sing along to the merry, blissful Christmas season, which please come back every year.

After the folk song section, musician Wieczorek pulls out notes and texts from more modern times. Reaches into Udo Lindenberg’s large catalog raisonné and promptly catches the panic rocker in his softer phase: The fact that things continue beyond the horizon and a new day is waiting is well suited to swinging along.

The good-humored ladies and gentlemen did not want to accept that it should be over afterwards and loudly asked for an encore. Finally, the finale was due to the Karat / Maffay composition and interpretation of the seven bridges that every person has to overcome at some point in their life …

After the “An der Rossel” home, the house in Elballee Ziebigk, which had been hard hit by the corona pandemic, received a musical visit on Tuesday. It was very well received there. The Christmas tour in the Elbe-Fläming nursing home on Lukoer Straße in Roßlau ends on Wednesday. (mz)
