Dobbertin (dpa) – The choir director Gerd Michaelis, who became famous in the GDR, died last Sunday (November 27) in Dobbertin in Mecklenburg (Ludwigslust-Parchim district), like his stepson, the singer Dirk Michaelis ( ‘When I left”), confirmed on Wednesday at the request of the German news agency. The newspaper “Bild” first reported on the death of the musician.
Michaelis was born in 1933 and was, among other things, director of the Gerd Michaelis Choir, which he founded. The successful ensemble also appeared on the radio in GDR times, where it accompanied various singers.
