“We have been dreaming of organizing an interdisciplinary music festival for some time now. This genre of music is very popular in the world now, it is also represented by, for example, David Garette, 2Cellos, Apocalyptica and others. While performing outside Latvia, we have met many interesting musical associations, which we will definitely invite to perform at the festival in the coming years. We are pleasantly excited to start implementing the idea, which Dagambai will also mark a new beginning, as this will be our last concert in this composition, “says the author of the festival idea and Dagamba founder – cellist Walter Owl. Dainis Tenis (piano), Antons Trocjuks (bass cello), Hamidreza Rahbaralams (percussion, voice) and Artūrs Jermaks (drums) play with him in the group.

Festival Boat intended as a bridge between traditional, classical values and the modern world, just like crossover or genre in music. The festival will provide a unique experience to enjoy live music of your favorite artists on Lake Jugla, on the shores of the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum. “All artists are bright members of interdisciplinary music – Dagamba combines classical music with the features of contemporary pop music, Tautumeitas do the same, only their focus is on ethno music, while Laima Jansone in her kokle play synthesizes the traditional and the contemporary. And, as at the festival, there will be surprises, “says Valters Pūce.

The festival area will be open from 17 to go on a trip around Lake Jugla and get stuck in the festival dining area. The main entrance will be near the Western Gate of the Open-Air Museum (from Bonaventuras Street). It is recommended to come by public transport or by bicycle, approaching the Open-Air Museum. Cars will be allowed to park on both sides of Brīvības gatve between Jugla and the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum.
