Museum: Germany’s oldest Jewish quarter in Cologne is emerging – knowledge

The opening of the museum is planned for 2024, so you have to be patient. But through the panorama windows on the third floor of the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum, also located on Rathausplatz, you can already follow the progress of the construction work. And on the website https://miqua.blog/ you can find a lot of information.

But not only in Cologne there is something to see – the anniversary year “1700 years of Jewish life in Germany” will be celebrated nationwide in 2021 – there are around 1000 events. Hamburg is organizing a themed week entitled “More than Little Jerusalem”, the photo exhibition “Germany’s Emigrants” can be seen in Nuremberg, and Lot Vekemans’ play “Judas” will be performed in Herxheim in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Perhaps the most important are offers such as those offered by the Herrenberg Adult Education Center in Baden-Württemberg: In an online event, Jewish and non-Jewish people can meet for a lively exchange. Title: “Meet a Jew” – meet a Jew!
