The Danish murderer Peter Madsen will be placed under stricter surveillance in the coming period because of his escape attempt, the court ruled on Wednesday, according to Danish media. The man sentenced to life may have received help in his outbreak on Tuesday.
The man has confessed to threatening prison staff with an object that looked like a gun. It may be a homemade firearm.
Once outside, the man tried to jump into a passing van. The director would also have been threatened, according to the hearing. After an encirclement, Madsen could be arrested again.
Justice in Denmark thinks Madsen got help in his escape attempt, but it is not clear from whom. The court has therefore decided to have part of the hearing take place behind closed doors, the magazine writes Politics.
Madsen has made a full confession but says he was not helped by anyone. His mail will be checked in the near future, write Danish media.
The man was sentenced to life for killing journalist Kim Wall in 2017. The woman came to the inventor’s submarine for an interview. Madsen raped and killed her and scattered her body parts in the sea.
