Police officer Jacob Picard, who arrested, transported and monitored Pascal Gagnon in the night from December 4 to 5, 2017, came to tell the court in what condition the accused was in the hours following the murder.

Officer Picard spoke of an individual who was initially calm, lucid and collaborative at the time of his arrest, around 12:30 am. He showed no signs of intoxication, according to the officer.

The police officer then recounted an episode where, around 4:30 am, Pascal Gagnon would have shown great confusion, even going so far as to ask what he was doing in prison.

The week ended with this testimony. The defense will take the weekend to confirm whether the accused will testify.

Me Marc-André Champagne, who represents Pascal Gagnon, has already mentioned that he intends to have his client testify, but keeping a way out depending on the turn of the trial. If the accused testifies, he will be heard on Monday morning.

Otherwise, prosecutors will then begin their argument.

Pascal Gagnon pleads that he did not plan his action.
