The coronavirus cases for every 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days they increased in all communities, except in the Canary Islands and Madrid. Navarra has more than 1,000, Melilla is over 900, Aragón and La Rioja are over 600, Castilla y León is at 562. And over 400 are Catalonia, Ceuta, the Basque Country and Madrid.
Pedro Sanchez has appeared before the media after the extraordinary Council of Ministers meeting where a new state of alarm has been approved for all of Spain. It is the fourth state of alarm for democracy and the second since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
The decree restricts night mobility in Spain to cover confinement between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., which will be applicable in all autonomous communities except the Canary Islands. Of course, the Government leaves the autonomous communities the power to delay or advance its activation one hour with respect to that strip.
Catalonia
In Catalonia, the Government will establish a curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., which will come into effect this Sunday. Establishments open to the public must close at 9pm. The restrictions are in addition to those already in force, such as the prohibition of holding meetings of more than six people.
Navarra
In Navarra the situation continues to be very worrying, with more than 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The limitation of night mobility will begin at 11 pm, as approved by the Government of Spain, although tomorrow it will be analyzed whether that schedule is maintained or modified, as well as other possible additional measures.
Melilla
Melilla has the second highest accumulated incidence of the coronavirus in all of Spain with 915 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In addition, almost 70 percent of ICU beds are already occupied by Covid patients.
Valencian Community
The Valencian Community had already decreed the curfew on your own. There was already nightly confinement and it is not allowed to go out between midnight and 6 in the morning.
Andalusia
The Junta de Andalucía does not plan to modulate the curfew hours imposed by the Government of Pedro Sánchez, so It will be held from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., since it is the same as the Andalusian Government itself imposed on Granada.
Murcia region
The Region of Murcia expresses its “loyalty” to the state of alarm and prepares the curfew along with “more restrictive” measures. The situation in the region – in the words of the president – is very serious. In the last hours, it has added about 800 cases, which is the highest number recorded in a day.
Madrid
The regional government of Madrid has already prohibited meetings and closes all activity between midnight and six in the morning. That, paradoxically, has meant extending the hours of bars and restaurants for another hour. It also reintroduces mobility restrictions by health areas.
Castile and Leon
Castilla y León has extended a curfew from this weekend to the entire region, which will make the confinements currently ordered in several municipalities decline.
