Jean-Luc Moudenc, outgoing LR mayor of Toulouse, supported by LREM, wins the second round of municipal elections with 51.87% of the votes cast. He is ahead Antoine Maurice (Citizen Archipelago), who piloted a list supported by EELV, the PS, LFI and 13 political parties from the left, author the 48.13% of the votes.
The participation amounts to 44,86% (against 57.62% in the 2014 election).
“Toulouse does not like ideology”
Although the result must be further refined as the results are counted, the gap is already sufficient for Jean-Luc Moudenc. Around 9:45 p.m., who is not the favorite of the last three polls, claimed the victory, estimating that it will be around a score of 52% of the vote.
“We proposed the right project,” commented Jean-Luc Moudenc. Like I said a month ago, Toulouse is a city of passion and Toulouse made a choice on a point of balance. I know Toulouse well and I know how to bring them together. We have gathered far beyond the usual political cleavages ”.
Toulousains do not like ideology. And the alliance between the Greens, the rebels, elements of the far left, that does not correspond to the city.

Jean-Luc Moudenc believes that he was not swept away by the green wave because he “proposed a rallying project, because we have an ecological balance sheet and equally consistent projects to continue the ecological transformation of the city.
We simply carry a realistic, responsible, pragmatic ecology.
Antoine Maurice: “I regret the climate of this campaign”
For its part, Citizen Archipelago has recorded its defeat. Antoine Maurice spoke at 10 p.m. in front of the J’Go restaurant, where he had set up his HQ for one evening.
After addressing his republican congratulations to Jean-Luc Moudenc, he said he regretted “the climate in which this campaign was held. A climate made of lies, caricatures and personal attacks. It is not my conception of politics ”.
