Multiplex 24 will complete its expansion next week, but the changes in DVB-T2 do not end

The operator of multiplex 24, Digital Broadcasting, will complete its expansion in the Czech Republic next week. On September 29, five new DVB-T2 transmitters will be launched in the Zlín Region and a day later another five in the Moravian-Silesian Region. At the same time, the existing multiplex 4 and the Transition Network 13 will be terminated. In DVB-T2 multiplex 24, viewers can tune in to stations such as the media group Nova, Šlágr TV, Prima Comedy Central or the JOJ family.

“By launching other sites of multiplex 24, which we are disseminating in the DVB-T2 / HEVC standard, we are continuing the intensive implementation of the Technical Transition Plan approved by the government. At the same time, we confirm our position as a major player in the national and regional television broadcasting in the Czech Republic. We are pleased with the great interest of television broadcasters in the distribution of their television programs in our new Broadcasting Network “24”, “said Digital Broadcasting Executive Radim Pařízek.

Czech Radiocommunications is also preparing to complete the transition of nationwide networks. He will be the last to start the transition to DVB-T2 around Zlín and Wallachia. On the last day of September, the existing DVB-T broadcasts of Czech Television will be switched off from the Tlustá hora and Ploštiny transmitters, and viewers will only be able to watch these programs in the new format. During October, a commercial TV station will also be retuned. By switching to DVB-T2, viewers will get all the most watched TV programs for free and some of them in HD quality.

With the transition of nationwide networks to the DVB-T2 standard, the second phase of digitalization of terrestrial television broadcasting ends, however, the changes on the terrestrial platform do not end. At the beginning of November, we can expect further news in the multiplexes of České Radiokomunikace. It will end the distribution of channels with the “P” preset and switch FTV Prima stations to a higher picture quality. The operator also plans to terminate the regional Regional Network 8, whose clients it has moved to other multiplexes over time.
