Several people were injured in a serious accident on the A2 at the Oudenrijn junction. Three of them are in serious condition, including a child.
The three seriously injured people were in the same vehicle, a police spokesperson told NU.nl. The child’s situation is worrying.
Around 12.30 pm on Saturday, a rear-end collision occurred on the A2 at the Oudenrijn junction. A total of four vehicles were involved. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Many emergency services were called and the slightly injured were helped on the spot. The victims with more serious injuries were immediately transported to hospital.
Due to the accident, the highway towards Amsterdam will be closed for hours. Traffic must take a detour from the Everdingen junction. Rijkswaterstaat expects the closure to last until approximately 5:30 p.m. First, the police conduct the investigation, so that Rijkswaterstaat can then start recovering the vehicles.
