MUI Response to Residents in Sragen Demolishing Mosque After Promising

Jakarta

Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) open your voice regarding the demolition of the mosque by the residents of Dusun Kowang, Sragen, Central Java, after being given a false promise to rebuild the mosque. Like what

“Yes, our mosque should be demolished after the money is clear, don’t trust too much, it’s clear that the money has just been torn down, it’s not clear that the mosque has been demolished. Therefore, in my opinion, the local community must rebuild (the mosque),” said the Deputy MUI Anwar Abbas when contacted, Monday (4/4/2022).

According to him, people can get funds by raising funds to local residents or residents who pass on the road near the mosque. Although some people think that the method of raising funds is not good, Anwar sees it as an effective way to get funds for the construction of a mosque.

Anwar also regrets that this incident happened. He also stated that he was willing to provide assistance to the residents of Sragen to rebuild the mosque which had been established since 1991.

“Yes, that’s why the community can do this… this is not an individual decision, it means that it is approved by the management, right now, we have made another (mosque),” said Anwar.

“Yes, I will donate to start the mosque, right, it requires new funds, if there is an account number, may I (help), we build it again, I am ready to help, for example, help with 200 cement,” he continued.

Anwar is also husnuzan or has a good attitude towards people who are willing to give Rp. 1.3 billion to rebuild the mosque. Anwar assessed that the person who gave the promise was a good person and it was possible that the person was in a disaster and could not keep his promise.

“It’s not necessarily that he cheated, suddenly he didn’t get money, sometimes we already promise suddenly our finances are in trouble. I’ve seen cases like that, it’s not cheating, let alone other people, we are just promise that sometimes all of a sudden the money doesn’t come in, “said Anwar.

Finally, he advised the residents to have good prejudice. He also hoped that the residents would work together to build the mosque that had been torn down.

“So if Buya said that this person had good intentions, that this person probably really didn’t have any money, so the promise was not fulfilled,” said Anwar Abbas.
