MS: Remuneration of doctors for guards increased by up to 90%

According to the quoted source, the payment of additional guards for doctors is now made by reference to the basic salary increased from August 1, 2016.

According to the Ministry of Health, the guard of a primary care physician, grade 5, will be on working days, between 781 lei and 1,094 lei, gross amounts, on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the income from the guard reaching 1,667 lei gross. A specialist doctor, grade 5, will receive for a guard performed during the week between 614 lei and 860 lei, gross amounts, for the guards on weekends and on days declared public holidays, the same doctor will receive 1,310 lei gross.

” And in the case of resident doctors who perform guards under the law, they will be paid with amounts between 435 lei gross and 1,147 lei gross, depending on the year of residence and the increase applied (25% or 75% during the week and 100% for Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays) ”, it is also shown in the mentioned communiqué.

Also, the additional guards will be performed on the basis of an individual part-time employment contract, the guards being considered both seniority in work and seniority in the specialty. The employment contract for guards will entitle to paid rest leave in proportion to the time worked for doctors performing only guards or for those working as guards in a hospital other than the one where they are employed.

As a noteworthy element, the MoH shows, the so-called “compulsory guard” will benefit from the grant of a 25% increase during the night worked. In addition, doctors who have obtained a doctorate in medical sciences since 2010 will receive the legal increase of 15%, which, until August 1, had not been granted.

“The funds for the payment of the guards will be made available to the hospitals separately by the County Health Insurance Houses and by the Bucharest Municipality, according to GEO 43/2016”, states the Ministry of Health.
