Last Saturday, the city of Kilamba Kiaxi was the scene of a large march organized by the MPLA, in support of its president, João Lourenço, in a campaign promoted by the leadership of the party in Luanda, and brought together activists, supporters and friends of the M Family, who showed their unconditional support to the leader. A similar action took place in every town across the country, for the same reason.
Paulo Pombolo, general secretary of MPLA, was present at the event and he pointed out the large participation of the participants as a clear sign of support for the president of the party.
The politician pointed out, “when a leader is elected, the duty of the activists is to support that leader to achieve his mandate and strategy”.
Manuel Homem, 1st secretary of MPLA in Luanda, was also present at the march, stressing the importance of the event to strengthen internal democracy in the party.
During the march, support was emphasized for the program approved in 2022 and for the new Administrative Political Department in the Luanda region, which was recently approved by representatives of the National Assembly.
According to Miguel Almeida, 1st secretary of the MPLA in Kilamba Kiaxi, this new political-administrative division will allow more connections between public services and citizens, promoting a more harmonious development of the province and its municipalities.
For his part, Edmar Manuel, MPLA member in Kilamba Kiaxi, pointed out that the new administrative department will improve conditions to serve local communities, reinforcing the party’s commitment to meet the needs of the people.
Saturday’s march confirmed the commitment of MPLA members to support their president, João Lourenço, as the party continues to work to achieve the goals and objectives that have been defined since its founding, ratified in December 1956.
Under the motto “MPLA – Serve the People and Make Angola Grow”, the marches aimed to mobilize citizens and consolidate unity around the Party and its leader, João Lourenço, in leading the country and satisfying the desire of Angolans.
The events also aimed to support the process of revitalizing the structures of the MPLA and the new Department of Political Administration, which aims to bring public services closer to citizens, offering faster and more efficient responses to the their needs.
The campaign also aimed to raise awareness about the benefits of these activities.
