Moyes insists West Ham must ‘keep pushing’ to rival Liverpol and Manchester City – Rayototal

David Moyes has insisted that West Ham must “keep pushing” United to reach the same level as their Premier League rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.

The former Man Utd boss has done an incredible job since returning to West Ham in late 2019. He helped them stay afloat in 2019/20 before taking them to sixth place last season.

This qualified them for the Europa League and the Hammers have already secured their place in the knockout phase of the competition.

West Ham have also started strong in the Premier League. After 13 games, he is fourth in the standings.

Before the international match, they defeated Liverpool 3-2 at the London Stadium. But last time they lost 2-1 in the Etihad against Man City.

As reported by BBC SportsMoyes has said that his players “deserve great credit” for what they have accomplished:

“He’s there with the best (start of season),” he said. Moyes.

“I think the most important thing I have is a really good team, a group of players who are competitive, who are working to change the mindset, and I think when December 28 comes around, I will be here for two years. The change that the players have made in that time is amazing, so they deserve great recognition for what they have done.

I’m still trying to build the club. 18 months is not a long time to be in a club right now, but the players, and we as a staff, have made decent progress.

“The victories and the way we play have given us a lot of confidence.

“I don’t think that not winning against Manchester City necessarily makes us a big dent, but we want to win again and I understand that if we want to remain competitive we have to score points. It doesn’t matter where it is.

“Competing also means winning games, we did very well against Liverpool and we won it, and we did well against Manchester City and we did not get a result against them. We are not at that level yet, but we have to keep pushing to achieve it. “

West Ham hosts Brighton on Wednesday nights. Moyes believes that Graham Potter is doing “a very good job” with the Seagulls:

“I think Graham Potter did a very good job,” added Moyes.

If you asked me last season who I would like to improve, I would say Brighton.

“I don’t need to give Graham any advice, but I think the Brighton fans are very lucky to have him as their coach.”

“He’s a top manager with a really good team, and we all get booed sometimes in our careers, but you have to keep going and I’m sure he knows what he’s doing.”
