The man from Cologne was on Saturday afternoon on the road from Kelz towards Sievernich and had overtaken a car shortly before the turnoff to Gut Dirlau, the police said.
The driver of an oncoming car, who wanted to turn left towards Gut Dirlau, recognized the motorcycle driver too late according to the first information – and there was a collision.
The motorcyclist was thrown into the field and died of his injuries at the scene of the accident. According to the “express“the victim is a Cologne fireman.

The Cologne fire brigade confirmed the comrade’s death on Saturday in a Facebook post on Easter Sunday. “Today we received the extremely sad and painful news that one of our colleagues was killed in a traffic accident in the Düren district yesterday,” it said.
