The Goncalo Feio team is the only one in the spring to boast a complete set of points. The yellow-white-blue won all four matches and the situation in the table looks much better right away. Currently, the eighth team from Lublin loses only four points to the sixth Olimpia Elbląg. However, the motor can aim higher, because the leaders: KKS Kalisz and Kotwica Kołobrzeg are also much closer than a few weeks ago.
Stomil is certainly an uncomfortable rival who is focused primarily on defense. This can be seen, for example, in the number of goals conceded. Szymon Grabowski’s team is third in the eWinner II league in this respect (24 goals). The best Kotwica Kołobrzeg has lost 22 goals so far, and the goalkeepers of Olimpia Elbląg had to reach the net 23 times.
On Sunday, coach Feio will have to rearrange his team’s defense. Sebastian Rudol will be suspended for cards, and the main left defender – Filip Luberecki is staying at the U-18 team training camp. It seems that the former will be replaced by Bartosz Zbijak, because the Portuguese made such a change during the previous meeting with Pogoń Siedlce. There are more options on the defensive side, and Kamil Rozmus, who played for the last time in the match for points in September, is waiting for his chance.
How is the team from Olsztyn doing in spring? She may claim to be undefeated in 2023, but she also has no wins to her name. The charges of coach Grabowski recorded draws with: Polonia Warszawa, Tannery Kraków, Olimpia and recently with Górnik Polkowice.
– Stomil is a committed and disciplined team. Proof of that is the way everyone is coming back and defending. A team that is aggressive and sacrifices itself for the common good. Even the attacking formation is working hard on defense and that’s why they don’t lose. Rivals also have good physical conditions, they are strong and tall. This makes them a threat after set pieces. But we are a different band and so is Stomil. Every match is a new story and the teams are in different dynamics and at different times. The current form matters more than the previous matches. We are on the wave, in shape and have very good energy. The whole week was positive, so we will go to Olsztyn only and exclusively with the aim of gaining three more points – says Goncalo Feio, coach of the team from Lublin, before the Sunday meeting.
