MotoGP Portugal, Marc Marquez has begun to launch mental attacks

KOMPAS.com – Repsol Honda racers, Marc Marquez, is considered to have started to launch psychological attacks in mentally attacking his competitors before the race MotoGP Portugal.

In the first qualifying session (Q1), Marc Marquez and Joan Mir were immediately involved in a duel when they started together.

At the start of Q1, Marc Marquez was ahead of Joan Mir. Marc Marquez then slowed down a little after Joan Mir had a lap time of 1 minute 39.917 seconds.

That time record made Joan Mir lead the Q1 session at that time. Moments later, Joan Mir was “forced” to overtake Marc Marquez, who at that time slowed down a little and went wide.

Marc Marquez then immediately annoyed Joan Mir by following him from behind.

This method immediately made Marc Marquez manage to carve a lap time of 1 minute 39.253 seconds and lead the Q1 session.

After losing his time record by Marc Marquez, Joan Mir chose to still go to the pit lane. Whether on purpose or not, Marc Marquez also followed Joan Mir’s decision to enter the pit lane.

On the second try, Marc Marquez returned to following Joan Mir since he left the pit lane.

Marc Marquez in the end successfully qualified for Q2 with the status of the best racer in the Q1 session accompanied by Joan Mir who finished second.

After qualifying for the Portuguese MotoGP, Joan Mir immediately sprayed Marc Marquez. Joan Mir considered the tactics used by Marc Marquez to be very dangerous and should be punished.

“Marc Marquez should have been far ahead (at the start of Q1). However, he decided to slow down and finally got behind me,” Joan Mir was quoted as saying on the Crash website.

“He then interfered and followed me. Marc Marquez took advantage of my rear tires. In Moto3 and Moto2, such actions may be punished immediately. However, not in MotoGP,” said Joan Mir.

“Actions like that are very dangerous. We all know Marc Marquez likes to play this tactic and I am now a target. I don’t want to think about it anymore. It’s a waste of time,” Joan Mir added.

Continuing to the Q2 session, it was Alex Rins’s turn to be the “victim” of Marc Marquez. The duel between Alex Rins and Marc Marquez occurred when they started their second try.

Alex Rins and Marc Marquez at that time walked hand in hand in front of the pit lane and even seemed to have talked before entering the track.

After qualifying for the Portuguese MotoGP, Alex Rins admitted that he already knew the tactics used by Marc Marquez.

However, Alex Rins chose to casually respond to this tactic because Marc Marquez did not violate the rules.

Alex Rins also concluded that Marc Marquez’s current condition has not fully recovered.

Because, Marc Marquez in the Q1 and Q2 sessions needed other riders to increase his speed.

“I do not know how the physical condition of Marc Marquez. However, today’s Q1 and Q2 session is proof that Marc Marquez is still difficult to complete the lap alone,” said Alex Rins quoted from the Motosan.es website.

“Marc Marquez is very good at playing this tactic. He is also good at attacking the opponent’s mind and psychology,” added Alex Rins.

“What happened between me and Marc Marquez is not a problem. I do not know about the incident involving Marquez and Joan Mir. What I experienced with Marquez on the track cannot be punished,” said Alex Rins added.

Unlike Joan Mir, Alex Rins was able to deal with pressure from Marc Marquez after finishing second at the end of the Q2 session.

On the other hand, Joan Mir will start the Portuguese MotoGP race from the third row, nine or three places behind Marc Marquez.

Racing MotoGP Portugal 2021, Sunday (18/4/2021), is scheduled to start at 19.00 WIB.
