In 2021, the motorcycle world championship will take place twice at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg: The Michelin® Grand Prix of Styria (August 6th to 8th) is a new addition to the calendar, while the Finnish GP will have to wait.
FIM, IRTA and Dorna published a revised calendar on Friday morning: The corona pandemic and the associated travel restrictions led to the cancellation of the Finland GP 2021.
Instead, as in the previous year, the Red Bull Ring will experience a double event: A week before the planned Austrian GP (August 15) in Spielberg, the Styrian GP was added from August 6th to 8th. A limited number of fans in the stands is planned for both events in coordination with the authorities.
At the same time, World Cup promoter Dorna Sports SL announced a five-year contract with the operators of the new KymiRing, which provides for a place on the calendar for the Finland GP until 2026.
