From Dani Pedrosa to Jack Miller, many have congratulated Miguel Oliveira and Tech3 on their first MotoGP success.
But questioned on the subject during his debriefing, Johann Zarco is perhaps, without doubt, the one most able to appreciate the progress made by the Austrian manufacturer and the French team ofHervé Poncharal until today’s victory …
Johann Zarco : ” It was beautiful ! We could have had it together. For him, it was only partly postponed. For me, I loved the team but I told myself that the “KTM + Tech3” bet would really put them back several ranks, since they were well off with Yamaha, with a high-performance bike. But after the step that KTM did this year, and Oliveira who fought for the official bike but didn’t get it this year, we saw that they were riding well. There, I would not have bet that Tech3 could win with the KTM this year, but I’m very happy for them, for the whole team, because they are my friends. And for Oliveira, it’s beautiful: 900th Grand Prix, first Portuguese to win, first victory for Tech3…
But I’m not unhappy that I didn’t win, because I didn’t like the color of the car (laughs)! “

The Tech3 team arrived in the premier class of grand prix after having been 250cc world champion with Oliver Jacque in 2000 on Yamaha. It remained in the bosom of this brand until 2018, having racers such as Olivier Jacque, Shinya Nakano, Sylvain Guintoli, Makoto Tamada, James Toseland, Colin Edwards, Ben Spies, Cal Crutchlow, Andrea Dovizioso, Bradley Smith, Pol Espargaro and of course Johann Zarco.
Switched to KTM in 2019, the Tech3 team drove Miguel Oliveira and Hafizh Syahrin before replacing the latter with Iker Lecuona this season.
Next year, Danilo Petrucci is expected in Bormes les mimosas …
