**Moșteanu’s CV Controversy: Journalist Exposes Lies and Inconsistencies**

CT Popescu Launches Scathing Attack on Defense Minister Moșteanu, Accusing Him of “Lying” About Education

Bucharest – Prominent political commentator CT Popescu has delivered a blistering critique of Defense Minister Ionuț Moșteanu, alleging deliberate misrepresentation of his academic history. The attack follows recent reporting by Libertatea raising questions about discrepancies in Moșteanu’s curriculum vitae.

The controversy centers on Moșteanu’s claims of having studied Management at Athenaeum university in Bucharest between 1996 and 2000. Libertatea reported that Athenaeum University has denied Moșteanu was ever a student and that the Management specialization wasn’t authorized until 2020. A CV listing Athenaeum University was subsequently removed from the Tarom website, where Moșteanu was presented as a member of the Board of Directors.

Popescu, known for his direct and frequently enough provocative commentary, went further, stating,”he lies live, without blinking, this after he is also stupid.”

Moșteanu initially claimed the Athenaeum mention in an earlier CV was “a mistake” and subsequently presented a bachelor’s degree from Bioterra University, wich he stated he completed in 2015 after attending between 1996-1999. He explained that he began studies at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest in 1992, ranking 45th in Automatic, but left in his second year to work. He also stated he later completed his degree at Bioterra, Faculty of Engineering and agrotourism Management, specializing in managerial engineering.

“In a CV made in 2016 at speed on a model on the net, there was a mistake that I admit embarrasses me,” Moșteanu wrote on Facebook, apologizing for the discrepancy.

Prior to the current controversy, Moșteanu held the position of advisor to the minister in the Ministry of Transport and was a member of the CA of several state companies between 2015-2016 – positions that, at the time, legally required a higher education degree. The unfolding situation raises questions about the veracity of Moșteanu’s qualifications for these roles and his current position as Minister of Defense.
