Moderna and Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccines have a number of harmless but serious side effects that patients should be prepared for. About it writes Newsweek publication citing experts from the American Medical Association.

It is noted that both vaccines have unpleasant and temporary “side effects” that do not pose a significant threat to life. Volunteers in the Moderna vaccine trial reported that the only common “severe” side effect was pain at the injection site after the first injection of the dose. 2.7% of patients faced this. After the second dose was administered, 9.7% of the participants experienced fatigue. Muscle aches or pains were experienced by 8.9%, and joint pain – 5.2%. Another 4.5% experienced headaches and 4.1% experienced pain at the injection site.
One of the Moderna test volunteers, 43-year-old Luke Hutchison, noted that after the injection he suffered “unbearable” fever. However, after 12 hours, the unpleasant sensations faded away.
Pfizer’s trials found that the vaccine can cause fatigue and headaches – these side effects were observed in less than 4% of trial participants after the second dose. No other serious symptoms were observed in the trial participants.
According to the publication, some experts called on doctors and health officials to inform the public about the side effects of vaccines against COVID-19, but at the same time to resist those who will use this data to promote conspiracy theories against vaccination.
