The Moscow authorities have decided to significantly expand the program of free drug provision for patients with COVID-19 coronavirus. About it reported Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

He noted that patients with severe forms of the disease are treated in hospitals, but most of those infected are at home under the supervision of doctors, receiving free medicines.

“Recently, new effective drugs have been registered in Russia. Therefore, starting in October, we are significantly expanding the program of free drug provision for patients with COVID-19, ”said the mayor.

Patients will now receive:

  • antiviral drugs “Areplivir” and “Coronavir”
  • anticoagulants that prevent blood clotting and blood clots (Dabigatran etexilat, Rivaroxaban, Apixaban) for the prevention of complications in patients with a moderate course of the disease
  • at the decision of the doctor, outpatients will be given pulse oximeters, devices for measuring the level of oxygen in the blood
