Moroccan newspapers have highlighted the proposed date by the Confederation of African Union (CAF) about Al-Ahly’s match against Wydad Casablanca in the context of the CAF Champions League semi-finals.
According to the Moroccan newspaper, “The National Team”, the second scenario in the match between Al-Ahly and Al-Wadad, which is to hold semi-final matches next to the final in next September, will be in the interest of the Moroccan team.
The newspaper explained the extent of Wydad benefiting from this confrontation, as the Moroccan champion will ensure the readiness of all his injured players.
The most prominent returnees are Ashraf Dari and Salah Al-Din Al-Saeedi, along with the other two, Abdullatif Naseer and Ismail Al-Haddad.
The home and away games were supposed to take place between Al-Ahly and Al-Wadad last month, as the first-leg match was to be held in Casablanca, Morocco, with the return leg to be held at the Cairo Stadium stadium.
CAF issued a decision to suspend all matches, both at club level and specifically in the Champions League and Confederation competitions, in addition to the national team competitions and specifically in the African qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations, which will be held in Cameroon next year due to the new epidemic of Corona virus (Coved 19).
