Morik launches live concert series on Facebook

The Molière space has come back to life. Not totally, not as the audience impatiently hoped, but it vibrated again.

Saturday at 6 p.m. Morik performed solo in the 350-seat hall.

Concert always available

There was no live audience to listen to Nancy’s singer, but spectators were able to follow her performance behind their screens. The concert, which lasted nearly an hour, was broadcast live on the Facebook page of the Luxeuil-les-Bains town hall, where it is still available.

116 reviews

This Sunday noon, the performance had generated 116 comments and collected 89 “likes”.

Author, composer and performer, Morik left Guadeloupe twenty years ago to settle in France. The influences have remained; he sings in Creole to West Indian or African rhythms, travel being a source of inspiration for him. Internet users appreciated the change of scenery: “We are transported to the islands, and it feels a lot of good in these difficult times”, reacted a spectator.

“Keep the public in suspense”

The City of Luxeuil, which organized the concert, wished to relaunch its cultural season in this way. Two dates may have taken place in the fall, the last going back to October 15. “We want to keep the public on their toes,” comments Frédéric Burghard. “We have a good pool of faithful who follow what we offer every year.”

Yules then Guitar Swing

The operation also aims to support artists “who are going through a complicated period”, explains the mayor of Luxeuil. “They bear the brunt of the closing of theaters. Inviting them to perform anyway is a form of militant act. ” Two other dates are already scheduled, March 20 with Yules (solo) and April 3 with Guitar Swing. All the artists chosen have already performed at Luxeuil in recent years as part of the “Découvertes au Frichet”.

“Even from a distance it’s a pleasure”

“It’s a great initiative”, appreciates Morik before going on stage. “We no longer do concerts, although our raison d’être is to be able to perform in front of an audience. Even at a distance, it’s a pleasure, because we are in good conditions. ”
