Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, State Secretary Yevgeny Ivanov, said that more than 2 thousand foreign citizens who entered the country on a fan’s passport to attend matches of the 2018 World Cup are still on the territory of the Russian Federation.

“According to law enforcement agencies, Russia still has not left more than 2 thousand foreigners who entered the country in 2018 without visas on the passports of fans of the World Cup. Now they are in fact illegal migrants, ”quoted Ivanov as saying. Kommersant.

The World Cup was held in 11 cities of Russia in the summer of 2018. The winner of the tournament was the French team.
