More than 500 explosions per day in Donbas – OSCE

The OSCE counted more than 500 explosions along the line of contact in Donbass per day

The OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine appealed to the parties to the conflict with an appeal to adhere to the ceasefire regime.

Since Wednesday evening, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) has registered more than 500 explosions near the line of contact in eastern Ukraine. This was stated at a meeting of the UN Security Council by the head of the mission, Yashar Halit Chevik, writes Interfax.

“Between last night and 11:20 Kyiv time today, the SMM reported 500 explosions along the line of contact,” he said.

Cevik noted that about 30 more explosions were later reported, which may indicate a decrease in tension.

According to him, on Thursday morning the SMM called on the parties to the conflict to adhere to the ceasefire.

“It is extremely important to immediately promote de-escadation in order to avoid further deterioration of the situation,” said the head of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.

Recall that separatists in the Donetsk region shelled two cities and three villages.
