Belgium has a total of 65,199 confirmed cases of Covid-19, or 352 more than on Friday.

Hospitals were treating 218 coronavirus patients on Friday. Twenty-eight hospital admissions were recorded and 25 discharged. The intensive care received 41 patients (+1), 17 of whom required respiratory assistance. There is a 25% increase in hospitalizations on average compared to the previous week with an average of 12.1 hospitalizations per day over the last seven days.

Since the start of the epidemic, Belgium has deplored the death of 9,817 patients (+5). Again, there is an increase in the number of deaths with 2.6 deaths per day over the last seven-day period, an increase of 50% on average.

The day before, the reproduction rate, that is to say the number of people that an individual positive for Covid-19 will infect was 1.45.

It is difficult to draw conclusions over the past few days, due to the long July 21 weekend. Nevertheless, it is observed that Flanders remains the most affected province, particularly in Antwerp, Limburg and West Flanders, even if the virus continues to circulate throughout the territory.

In addition, in Wallonia, in Hainaut and in Liège there is a visible increase in cases. In Brussels, there is a slight increase even if the situation is generally relatively stable.
