More than 13 million anticovid vaccines have been applied in the Dominican Republic, according to vice president

The vice president and coordinator of the Health Cabinet, Raquel Peña, announced this Saturday that more than 13 million vaccines against covid have been applied in the Dominican Republic.

The information was offered through his Twitter account, where he stated that “the goal is getting closer and closer, only together will we achieve the 70% of vaccinated nationwide”.

Peña called on citizens who have not applied the first, second or third dose to attend the vaccination centers as soon as possible, “today is a good day to do it.”

COVID-19 situation

In the last 24 hours, six deaths from coronavirus and 823 new cases were reported, bringing the number of deaths to 4,106 in the Dominican Republic and 375,545 the accumulated number of infections since the start of the pandemic.

According to the epidemiological bulletin issued this Saturday by the Ministry of Public Health, yesterday 5,063 tests were processed to detect the virus, as well as 2,693 follow-up samples from patients already infected.

Of the total number of coronavirus cases, 6,290 remain active, while 365,141 correspond to recovered people. The fatality stands at 1.09%.
