Due to the proximity to the population, every district police officer knows the peculiarities and challenges in his district very well, writes the city police in a message. This would allow the police officers to mediate and act in an uncomplicated manner. The neighborhood police’s close contact with citizens is also helpful in prevention and education.
Since Winterthur is growing and the city is constantly changing, changes to the district police are also necessary, writes the city police. In order to be able to continue to offer the service flawlessly and to meet the needs of the population for a more visible police presence in the old town, the police officers were redistributed across the city and in some cases reassigned to other quarters.
The district police officers Ivan Toro and Remo Weber are now responsible for Wülflingen. Ivan Toro also looks after the Töss and Dättnau quarters, Remo Weber also looks after the Breite and Brühlberg quarters. In the old town, Andreas Schleuss is now supported by Hansjörg Thomi. There is no adjustment for Roger Nüssli (Rosenberg, Veltheim), Rolf Zürcher (Oberwinterthur, Zinzikon), Marcel Specker (Hegi, Mattenbach) and Roman Müller (lakes with outside guards).
