The rules Roam Like at Home, which entered into force in June 2017, provides that from January 1 of each year, until 2022, the conditions for European roaming will be updated, destined to improve thanks to a series of agreements between European mobile telephone operators.

There are several operators who have already adapted to the new regulation, which will come into force starting from 1 January 2021.TIM e Get Mobile, for example, they have already notified the adjustment e PosteMobile did the same, communicating the new limits and extra-threshold costs.

Also ho.Mobile has already adjusted the thresholds Vodafone announced, with a note on its official website, that the new thresholds and costs will come into force starting from January 1, 2021. WINDTRE, for its part, has adjusted the extra-threshold cost for a single MB, effectively completing the picture.

Therefore, starting from January 1st, the traffic that can be used in roaming will be calculated using the formula (monthly amount (excluding VAT) / 3) * 2, with an improvement compared to the current situation in which the division coefficient is 3.5. This figure will drop further from January 2022, when it will permanently settle at 2.5, subject to subsequent changes.

As for extra-threshold traffic, once the bundle that each user has available has been exceeded, a cost of 0.366 euro cents will be applied for each single MB, down from the price in force in 2020, set at 0.427 euro cents.

We remind you that the regulation Roam Like at Home it applies to occasional trips outside one’s own country, and that if the use exceeds that in one’s own country, the operator may ask for explanations and may even impose additional costs in the event of incorrect behavior.
