Even if Opera Berlioz, like all cultural places, cannot yet open its doors, no question for the musicians of the’National Orchestra of Montpellier Occitanie to remain inactive. Cannot receive the public, several concerts were recorded at the end of the year, including that of the new year which will be broadcast Thursday at 6 p.m. and Friday at 12 p.m..
Concert in front of soft toys
On December 25, under the baton of Magnus Fryklund, the Orchestra performed a concert around Gioachino Rossini’s Bassoon Concerto and Igor Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite. A performance performed in front of a very particular audience. The seats were filled with soft toys which were then distributed to the Restos B Bébé du Coeur.
New Year’s Eve concert
For this New Year’s concert, the Orchestra will perform two essential works by Maurice Ravel: the Concerto pour la main gauche and the Boléro. The musicians will be led by the young French conductor Lionel Bringuier who, at 20, was already assistant conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. David Kadouch will do wonders on the piano.
