After its European disappointment, Montpellier resumed its good habits in men’s League A with a victory against Nantes-Rezé at the end of the 22nd day and consolidates its first place in the standings.
Montpellier has left aside its European failure. But, with five of the last seven points, Montpellier took control by winning the first set. Not wanting to know the same scenario, the teammates of Ryan Sclater (17 points) hit hard from the start and made the break in this meeting without firing a shot.

From the start of the third set, Montpellier appeared less sovereign with a very limited rotation of the workforce decided by Olivier Lecat. But if the Héraultais were able to react to count up to five points in advance, Nantes-Rezé has always been threatening and, thanks in particular to Adam Bartos (11 points), the players of Fulvio Bertini have been able to change the destiny of this encounter to return to a round of their opponents. A rebalanced balance of power that continued in the fourth round, Nantes-Rezé hanging on as much as possible but, with a last boost, it was Montpellier which won in four sets (25-22, 25-13, 27-29, 25-20) and has ten points ahead of AS Cannes leading the championship. Nantes-Rezé, who remained on a success against Poitiers, falls back into its shortcomings and remains in the penultimate place.
