There is no question of frightening the population but at Montceau hospital, everything is being done at the moment to counter a possible outbreak of covid cases in the coming weeks. Moreover all the health specialists say it, with the English variant, the contaminations “will explode”. They were already saying the same thing a fortnight ago and, for now, the plateau, even if it is high, remains stable.
“It can be complicated in a few weeks, but we are preparing” advance Jean-Michel Suignard, deputy director of the Montceau hospital center.
This Wednesday, the hospital had 26 patients with covid, three of whom are in intensive care unit. In the event of a peak, nearly 70 beds will be available in the various departments.
For the time being, no case of covid of the English variant has been detected on the patients.
Regarding the vaccination campaign, “90% of EHPAD residents have been vaccinated and we are finalizing the injections of the second dose” specifies Jean-Michel Suignard. As for hospital workers, 160 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be available from next week for volunteers and according to an age criterion.
