MontanaBlack, a Twitch streamer, posts videos of nighttime chases on YouTube.

35-year-old Marcel Eris is one of the biggest streamers on German Twitch as “MontanaBlack”. It all started with videos that he posted on YouTube from his grandparents’ attic. Now he’s going back to his roots and taking his fans on a nostalgia trip.

What’s up with MontanaBlack’s past? The 35-year-old never made a secret of his past, spoke openly about drugs and crime. His openness set him apart from the rather prudish YouTube landscape at the time, as he says himself.

Now MontanaBlack brings back one of his oldest formats: The “Reallife Stories”, in which he chats from the sewing box. His viewers are thrilled and feel transported back in time.

The German Twitch streamer MontanaBlack gives an honest interview on ZDF: “I’ve never been good at games.”

MontanaBlack is old school on YouTube

What format is this? Reallife Stories was a format on MontanaBlack’s original YouTube channel. However, there have been no new videos on it for several years. Instead, the 35-year-old uses his former second channel, SpontanaBlack.

However, mainly compilations of his streams were posted on SpontanabBlack, i.e. no videos shot especially for YouTube.

Now there are two new real life stories and they are really old school: the facecam is off, you can see gameplay from Black Ops or Modern Warfare and MontanaBlack is chatting about it.

What are these stories? The first new real life story was released on March 11th and is called “The Wrong Friend”. The video received nearly 70,000 likes and overwhelmingly positive reactions from the community, with comments ranging from nostalgia to tears (via YouTube).

Confirmed by the positive feedback, MontanaBlack followed up on March 22nd and brought the next Reallife Story. You can also watch the real life of MontanaBlack in our video:

Supposed chase ends in the mud

What is the story about? MontanaBlack reports on a nightly spraying operation with an old friend with whom he had had little contact for several years. Together with other buddies they arranged to meet one night to “paint bicycles” – code for graffiti.

Spraying without permission is forbidden in Germany and can get really expensive. Accordingly, the group reacted in panic when a car approached them in their remote village – they fled.

The streamer was careless and landed “waist high” in the mud – closely followed by his old friend. Doubly annoying, because on their return they realized that it was not an unmarked police car that had been chasing them.

Rather, the inmate had also wanted to take advantage of the remoteness of the place, albeit for a nocturnal rendezvous. You can watch the whole story here:

How is the story received? As with the previous Reallife Story, the fans are enthusiastic. They feel transported back to their own youth, which they experienced with the streamer, demanding more “old school content” (via YouTube).

Why the sudden nostalgia content? Only MontanaBlack knows that. On Twitter, however, it has been observed for some time that the streamer is reminiscing. There he posts pictures from the past and writes things like “Gute Zeit” or “Take me back” (via Twitter).

It’s perhaps not surprising that MontanaBlack is reminiscing about the good old days, as the 35-year-old has been a content creator for a good 10 years now. During this time he has followed the changes in the German streaming landscape – and some of it doesn’t suit him at all:
