Norwegian dancer and choreographer Mona Berntsen, known for her work with international artists and television appearances, is currently serving as a stage director for the Melodi Grand Prix, according to a recent report in VG.
Berntsen first gained prominence after winning “So You Think You Can Dance – Scandinavia” in 2008 at the age of 18.Following her victory, she relocated to Los Angeles were she collaborated with prominent musicians including Justin Bieber, Alicia Keys, and Justin Timberlake.
After several years working internationally, Berntsen returned to Norway and launched Tiny Studios, a digital platform designed to support dance schools.The venture reflects her commitment to fostering dance education and accessibility.
in 2019,Berntsen transitioned to television judging,appearing on the panel for “Norwegian Talents” on TV 2 alongside Mia Gundersen,Janne Formoe,and Bjarne Brøndbo. Her experience as a performer and choreographer informed her role in identifying and nurturing emerging talent.
Currently, Berntsen is contributing her expertise to the Melodi grand Prix as a stage director, overseeing the visual and performance aspects of the popular music competition. This role follows recent criticism of the eurovision Song Contest, as reported by VG, which some observers have described as surprisingly restrained.
