On Tuesday, a giant telescope in Puerto Rico – one of the largest in the world – was destroyed when the 900-ton structure collapsed. The moment when that happened was determined by the National Science Foundation (NSF) filmed. The telescope received radio waves from space to detect extraterrestrial life, but was best known for playing a role in the James Bond film GoldenEye. The cause of the collapse is not yet known, but it is speculated that an earthquake was the culprit.
