Even on the used car market, Tesla’s electric cars are still relatively expensive, so some prospective buyers would rather take a look at total damage offers. Sometimes a mobile Tesla can be built from it at a reasonable cost, although the manufacturer does not necessarily contribute to this. But now there is a Tesla Model 3 Performance on Twitter, which according to the owner only has “a few scratches in the park”, but has a brand new screen. Buyers can propose a price themselves.

In view of the pictures, it immediately becomes clear that the description of the condition is anything but serious. The Model 3 stands on intact-looking individual rims, but is otherwise an almost all-round (except left) heavily dented and partly naked shadow of its former self. There are no more bumpers, windows, including the roof, seats and other interior fittings – apart from the screen on the floor.
Runs like real performance Tesla
But, and that’s the really interesting news: The Tesla is still driving, as the owner demonstrates in a related video on YouTube. There it also becomes clear that at least the intention to sell actually exists. “A good basis for a project,” it says here, “runs and drives.” And that, in turn, is even an understatement, because as a young driver shows after a few careful laps, the dented red car still accelerates like a real Tesla – possibly even a little faster than an intact Model 3 performance because it lacks some weight.
The aerodynamics, on the other hand, leave something to be desired, as does the comfort – the driver sits first on a high stool, through which he protrudes over the bent front roof edge of the Model 3, then rather low on the bare floor panel. Two powerful accelerations in succession work perfectly in the video and with an audible engine buzzing. According to the description, charging should also work without problems, the Tesla from model year 2020.
Price proposals were initially neither mentioned on Twitter nor on YouTube. Nevertheless, this crashed Tesla Model 3 Performance (nothing has been revealed about the circumstances) should still have a future – if not as a naked racing electric car, then as an energy storage device with 75 kilowatt hours, for which only the battery and charger would then continue to exist.
