Mumbai: BJP leaders have accused the recently released web series Thandav of mocking Hindu gods. The star-studded line-up, which includes Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan, has demanded a ban on the Amazon Prime web series.
BJP MLA Ram Kadam has lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Ghatkopar police station seeking stern action against the actors, producers and director. BJP MP Manoj Kotak has written a letter to Union Minister Prakash Javadekar demanding a ban on Thandav and a regulatory authority for OTD platforms.
Kotak alleged that he deliberately mocked Hindu gods and insulted religious sentiments. Hindu sentiments have been repeatedly attacked due to the lack of censorship on online platforms. He added that the recently aired programs on OTD were full of sex, violence, drugs, torture, hatred and pornography.
