MLS Summary October 24, 2021: Austin Gets Right Over Dynamo; Orlando escapes him

Sebastian Driussi scored in stoppage time in the first half as the Austin FC expansion team beat Houston Dynamo 2-1 on Sunday.

Two of the three goals of the meeting were scored against their camp.

Austin (9-19-4) took the lead this way in the seventh minute. A foul in the box was called against Dynamo’s Zarek Valentin, which led to a penalty for Cecilio Dominguez. His shot hit the post and ended up in the goal after giving up against goalkeeper Marko Maric.

Houston (6-14-12) similarly scored in the second minute of late-game added time when Nick Lima’s clearance was accidentally redirected into the goal by Julio Cascante.

Adam Buksa saves the furniture against Orlando

The New England Revolution saved the day by closing a two-goal deficit to come away with a 2-2 draw against Orlando City SC in the pouring rain.

The Revs continue a nine-game unbeaten streak.

Orlando was still able to collect a point, for a total of 47 which keeps the team in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

Nani and Daryl DIke, on a penalty, had given priority to Orlando, who seemed to be heading for victory with ten minutes to go.

The Revolution however scored in the 81st minute, then in stoppage time, each time thanks to Adam Buksa. The team is entrenched at the top in the East, with 21 points more than its closest pursuers.
