Nashville has withdrawn from the MLS season resumption tournament, which began on Wednesday, after the discovery of four new cases of coronavirus on his team.
Nashville is the second team to announce its withdrawal from the MLS is Back tournament in Orlando after Dallas’s Reto Ziegler, who has 11 Covid-19 positive cases among its members.
Nashville has a total of 9 covid-19 positive players. According to a statement by the club, one player tested positive shortly after the team arrived at their hotel in Florida, while eight others tested positive a few days later.
After a four-month hiatus due to coronavirus, MLS has relaunched its season with a World Cup-style tournament that originally brought together 26 teams in an isolated “bubble” within Disney World in Orlando, in a context of an increase in the number of cases in the United States and especially in Florida. The first match, played behind closed doors, pitted Orlando against Inter Miami on Wednesday (2-1).
