The Columbus Crew hired forward Bradley Wright-Phillips on Wednesday on a two-year contract.

The 35-year-old is a two-time Major League Soccer (MLS) Golden Boot recipient, awarded to the season’s top scorer on the Garber Circuit. Having worn the Los Angeles FC uniform this year, he was a free agent. In 2020, he won the title of the author of the most beautiful comeback thanks to eight goals and six assists in 18 outings.

“He’s been one of our league’s top scorers for the past decade. Bradley will give our group of attackers invaluable experience and an important contribution. We also believe that the quality of his character has been an asset for each club where he has played. In the personal successes he has reaped, this has played a key role, ”Crew general manager Tim Bezbatchenko explained in a statement.

Wright-Phillips is sixth in MLS history with 116 goals. The former New York Red Bulls has totaled 213 career games. Along with Columbus, the 2020 MLS Cup champion, he is expected to back Gyasi Zardes, who took the league’s second rung with 12 goals.
