A new update for MLB The Show 24 is rolling out, addressing gameplay issues, Diamond Dynasty enhancements, and various fixes across different game modes. The update, scheduled for deployment on April 22nd at 4 a.m. PT, brings version 1.09 to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, and version 1.0.46 to Xbox Series X|S.
Gameplay Enhancements
Several gameplay issues have been resolved to improve the overall experience:
- Corrected an issue where correctly guessed pitches were not landing in the intended zone while using the guess pitch feature.
- Addressed a problem in online play that prevented players from accessing the bullpen menu after specific actions by their opponent.
- resolved an issue where the pause menu could remain on screen while the game was playing in the background.
- Updated the stats displayed in the pause menu to show PA – AVG – HR – RBI – SB, replacing the previous format of PA – AVG – RBI – H – HR.
- Fixed various input issues within the pause menu.
Diamond Dynasty Updates
The marketplace in Diamond Dynasty receives a significant boost:
- The buy/sell order limit for player items at 90-95 OVR has been increased from 500,000 to 750,000.
- NOTE: This change specifically will go live at 12 PM PT on April 22nd.
Road to the Show Improvements
Road to the Show mode sees several fixes aimed at improving player progression and overall experience:
- Addressed an issue where lower difficulty settings were occasionally playing as higher difficulty.
- Fixed a crash that could occur with two-way players in the offseason.
- Resolved an issue that could prevent a player from being included in the postseason roster in the playoffs.
- Player cards will now show the correct position after a player switches from a two-way player.
- Fixed an issue where CPU controlled batters could make contact no matter where the first pitch was thrown.
franchise Mode Fixes
Franchise mode receives a crucial financial update:
- Prorated player salaries are now properly applied to budgets after mid-season trades.
Storylines Mode
Stability improvements for Storylines mode:
- Fixed a crash that could occur after playing Storylines and then entering an exhibition game.
Stadium Updates
Stadium authenticity is enhanced with the following updates:
- Added missing retired numbers in Citi Field.
- The “Win! Twins!” neon sign will now light up during night games at Target Field.
- Fixed Mariners flags and banners at T-Mobile Park.
Miscellaneous Updates
Additional content and fixes include:
- Los Angeles Dodgers 2024 World Series Gold uniforms have been added.
- Various commentary bug fixes.
