Rambler wrote that earlier, as part of measures to support the construction industry, the President of Russia proposed to ensure that Russians receive preferential mortgage loans at 6.5% per annum. The preferential rate will apply to loans issued before November 1, 2020.

“In May, according to the Bank of Russia, the average rate fell to 7.4%, there is potential for further reduction, this is facilitated by the launch of the program of preferential mortgages at 6.5%,” the Prime Minister explained.

According to him, the government has already prepared amendments to the rules for issuing preferential mortgage loans.

The maximum amount of such a loan for residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Leningrad regions was increased from 8 to 12 million rubles, Mishustin specified.
