Miscellaneous – Justice | 15 years in prison and 10 years of follow-up for the rapist

Judged over two days by the Assize Court of Meurthe-et-Moselle in Nancy, Anthony Naus, 30, defended by Mr.e Alexandre Rolland, was convicted of rape and sexual assault with a weapon and was sentenced to fifteen years of criminal imprisonment, with a safety period of two-thirds. At the end of this sentence, he will also have to comply with a socio-judicial follow-up (SSJ) for a period of 10 years. The Advocate General had requested the same 15-year sentence, with a security period, and a 15-year SSJ.

On November 4, 2018, at around 2:30 a.m., the accused raped a 24-year-old girl at the threat of a knife. While she was waiting for a friend, she had opened the door to her apartment, which had no eyecup. The man, addicted to cannabis and placed under reinforced guardianship, had made several stays in a psychiatric hospital. The Assize Court has also retained an “alteration” of its judgment.
