On Saturday evening, a violent traffic accident occurred at the entrance to the village of Volstroff. The driver of a BMW lost control of his vehicle, before ending his race below a house. Five people were in the sedan. The exceptionally violent exit from the road was fatal to one of the passengers, who occupied a seat in the back of the vehicle. He is a 21-year-old Franco-Algerian, living in the Thionville area.
If three other passengers, presenting various injuries, were transported to the regional hospital of Thionville, a fifth was missing when the gendarmes arrived. He was later located at Bel-Air Hospital, where he had gone on his own. On Sunday, the circumstances of this dramatic accident were still unclear, even if the hypothesis of excessive speed is not ruled out. A judicial inquiry has also been opened.
