Misano is harder than Aragon

Misano

Francesco Bagnaia successfully wiped out two races MotoGP final. For Bagnaia, victory in San Marino feels more difficult than Aragon. Why?

Bagnaia in the last two races did look impressive. Reaching pole position at the San Marino MotoGP, Bagnaia was not afraid to be able to win the race at the Marco Simoncelli World circuit, Sunday (19/9/2021) night WIB.

Bagnaia was always in the leading position from the first lap until the 27 laps ended. Despite being under pressure from Fabio Quartararo on the last lap, Bagnaia remained the first to cross the finish line.

For Bagnaia, this is the second victory this season after last week dominated the Aragon MotoGP. In last week’s race, Bagnaia also faced stiff resistance to finish first.

If this week is Quartararo, then Marc Marquez who makes it difficult for him in Aragon and forces Bagnaia to fight tight in the last three laps. The two victories made Bagnaia happy, not playing.

When asked which victory was more difficult, Bagnaia mentioned the San Marino MotoGP. Because the characteristics of the circuit at Misano are more physically draining because there are many corners and there are rarely straights.

“It’s special after suffering for so long. So far I’ve only been close to winning, but it wasn’t because of a mistake or a problem. Winning two races in a row makes me more confident. Now I believe that if I continue to work well, I can compete with the best,” said the racer who is familiarly called Pecco in Jakarta GPOne.

“Today the race was more difficult because the track was shorter and more physically demanding. You can catch your breath in Aragon on the straights, while there you can’t relax. My grip is also a bit less and it’s not easy to stay focused. Although I know that this will happen because of pressing from the start.”

This victory brings Francesco Bagnaia cut the distance with Fabio Quartararo at the top of the 2021 MotoGP standings to 48 points. Bagnaia has 186 points.
