The federal Ministry of Health reported this Wednesday, January 13, 15,873 new confirmed cases of contagion of Covid-19 throughout the country, as well as 1,235 new deaths. The incidence of contagion rose 10% this week compared to last week.
The official number of accumulated infections in Mexico amounted to 1 million 571,901; while the number of total deaths reached 136,917; The current fatality rate for Covid-19 is 8%, according to the Health agency.
At a press conference in the National Palace, Ricardo Cortés, general director of Health Promotion, said that since the beginning of the epidemic in our country, 3 million 959,944 people have been analyzed by means of a PCR diagnostic test with 45% positivity in epidemiological week 53. The health authority estimates that the national epidemic is made up of 98,700 active cases, that is, people who presented symptoms of Covid-19 in the last 14 days.

- Morelos with 72%
- Puebla with 71%
Of the 10,450 beds with mechanical ventilators for critical Covid-19 patients, 50% (5,270) are occupied, mainly in: Mexico City with 87%; State of Mexico with 79%; Nuevo León with 72%; Baja California with 57%; Tlaxcala with 56%; Hidalgo with 51 percent.
