About 1,500 students from the educational institutions Marco Fidel Suárez, from La Dorada, and the Juan XXIII headquarters of the San Francisco de Paula Institution in Chinchiná, will enjoy from 2022 the infrastructure works delivered by the Ministry of National Education, as part of the projects executed by the Fund for the Financing of Educational Infrastructure (FFIE). It is a modern and adequate educational infrastructure for teaching and learning.
The Minister of Education, María Victoria Angulo, and the manager of the FFIE, Adriana González, toured the works in the company of the Governor of Caldas, Luis Carlos Velásquez; mayors; Secretaries of Education; rectors, and citizen oversight of these two institutions. The delegation verified the completion of the works and delivered the works to the communities. At first, they visited the work of Marco Fidel Suárez, from La Dorada, and in the afternoon they were at the Juan XXIII headquarters in Chinchiná. The minister also announced that new deliveries of educational infrastructure will be made in Caldas in February next year.
“We continue to give good news, it has been an intense but wonderful day. In La Dorada we delivered a new school and in Chinchiná we are delivering works. The best examples of the joy that these works cause are the children and young people. For Caldas there are 21 schools , eight improvements delivered, 25 more improvements and the joy and commitment of teachers throughout the department, “said the minister.
The new institutions have the technical standard and various spaces such as preschool classrooms of 40 square meters with capacity for 20 students, basic classrooms of 66 square meters with capacity for 40 students, library, dining room, kitchen, toilets, classroom of technology, administrative area, lifts, circulation areas, among others. Additionally, in the case of the Marco Fidel Suárez Institution, improvements were made to the existing infrastructure and an expansion, while that of Chinchiná is new infrastructure.
The Secretary of Education of Caldas, Fabio Hernando Arias Orozco, also delivered 40 laptops for the new systems room of the Marco Fidel Suárez Educational Institution, and Resolution 5585-6 of November 3, 2021, transferring resources to the Service Fund Educational institutions of the establishment, worth $ 135 million 893 thousand 394 for the purchase of furniture and endowment of this educational establishment.
In Chinchiná, it delivered 20 laptops and the corresponding furniture was previously acquired for this educational center, which had a value of $ 77 million 212 thousand 939, and additionally this year a transfer of resources worth $ 18 million 89 thousand 490 was made to carry out the purchase of missing items.
Thus, of 18 pending works of this national contract with the FFIE, 16 continue in civil works and two have been delivered to the communities. In this way, the National Government reactivates the educational infrastructure in Caldas, with about a thousand direct and indirect jobs, and fulfills the commitments agreed with the educational communities that have waited for years for intervention in its facilities. It also complies with the municipal administrations and the Department, which have put the counterpart of resources of 30% plus the endowment.
