Minister Padrino López congratulated the social communicators who strengthen the noble task of informing society

“The exercise of journalism is a noble task that contributes a lot to society and its values,” said this Saturday the Minister of Popular Power for Defense G / J Vladimir Padrino López on the occasion of the National Journalist Day.

In this sense, the G / J Vladimir Padrino López, through a message published on his official account of the social network Twitter @vladimirpadrino, congratulated the social communicators who, under the ethical exercise of journalism, strengthen the nation’s informative work.

Similarly, the Minister of Defense recognized the work of journalists, social communicators, town criers and radio broadcasters, recalling the premise that the leader of the Revolution Hugo Chávez Fría wrote in 2006: “Now more than ever the artillery of thought it comes to the front line and it is up to all of us to clarify what is happening, to give the right place to the information “. / CP

Read here the full statement by the Minister for Defense in commemoration of the Day of the Journalist:

202 years ago, on June 27, 1818, the first copy of the Correo del Orinoco was published, a journalistic body created by the Liberator to counter the “Gazeta de Caracas”, directed by the Spanish empire. This weekly contributed enormously to the independence cause, which is why Simón Bolívar called it “The Artillery of Thought”. Then becoming an element as essential as gunpowder and bullets, this means of dissemination served to inform the world about the political and military achievements in the nascent Colombia, while spreading proclamations, executive laws and notes from collaborators who contributed to the unity and cohesion of the patriot army. With that informative trench the battle of ideas, reason and justice was fought with an emancipatory spirit.

From that time to the present, it is a matter of pride to have ethically trained communicators in the titanic task of bringing the truth to the people, especially in these times of constant attacks on the Venezuelan Homeland, when – from outside and from within – we are it bombards with false news and lies that threaten the stability and peace of the Nation. Hence, the need to continue strengthening the army of social, alternative, popular and community communicators forged in the Bolivarian Revolution, who with their informative work contribute to deepening our process of national liberation.

Today, with the communicational spirit that our Commander Hugo Chávez bequeathed to us, we praise the work of all the journalists, social communicators, town criers and radio broadcasters, recalling on this day one of their most successful premises: “Now more than ever the artillery of thought passes on the front line and it is the responsibility of all to clarify what is happening, to give the right place to information.

Attached to this sentiment, from the FANB we congratulate those who dedicate their lives to the ethical exercise of journalism, assuming with passion, struggle and courage this selfless and noble profession.

Chávez lives!… The Homeland continues!

Independence and Socialist Homeland! … We will live and win!

Always loyal!… Traitors never!
