Lieutenant-General Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, said that there are other alliances that will be signed soon, explaining that the Cabinet approved the implementation of the first phase of the project to construct the (Sukhna / Dekheila) axis, an integrated logistics for containers, to link between the Red and Mediterranean Bahrain, with the (Hutchison – CMA-MSC – COSCO), and the initialing of the two draft contracts to be signed with the consortium, the first on the project to construct the superstructure, manage, operate, exploit, maintain and re-delivery a container terminal in the port of Sokhna with the (Hutcheson – COSCO-CMA) alliance, and the second on the superstructure construction project The management, operation, exploitation, maintenance and re-delivery of the container terminal at berth 100 in Dekheila with the (Hutchison-MSC) alliance, and that the agreement includes re-delivery is a natural clause in the agreements to reassure the people that there is no sale of state lands or its ports.

He explained in a press conference at the headquarters of the Council of Ministers in New Alamein that when the plan for the national road project was developed, there was consideration to link production areas with export areas and residential areas as well. Even Sudan, stressing that Egypt does not sell its ports and does not own them to anyone, and there is no partner coveting Egypt’s ports, explaining that Egypt implements the infrastructure of ports with designs from distinguished Egyptian consultants and national Egyptian companies and its ownership of Egypt and Egypt retains ownership of the infrastructure.

He explained that the signing of the final contract for the implementation of the project to establish the (Sukhna / Dekheila) axis, an integrated container logistics, to link the Red and Mediterranean Bahrain, will be celebrated soon, with the (Hutchison – CMA-MSC – COSCO) alliance, noting that Egypt does not sell its ports at all. The President of the Republic is always supportive of the transport sector.

He explained that 15 ports are being developed in Egypt at the same time, explaining that the berth and station 100 overlook the open sea, and its length will be 1.8 km, and it will be an addition to the Alexandria Great Port.

He stressed that the president set a great strategic goal, which is to make Egypt a center of world trade and logistics, and to exploit Egypt’s unique geographical location.

He added, in a press conference at the Council of Ministers in New Alamein, that it is Siam linking the ports to each other through modern means, and thus the implementation of the fast electric train.

The Council of Ministers approved the implementation of the first phase of the project to establish the (Sukhna / Dekheila) integrated logistical axis for containers, to link the Red and Mediterranean Bahrain, with the (Hutchison – CMA – MSC – COSCO) alliance, and the initialing of the two draft contracts to be signed with the alliance. The first is on the project of superstructure construction, management, operation, exploitation, maintenance and re-delivery of a container terminal in the port of Sokhna with the (Hutcheson – COSCO-CMA) alliance, and the second on the project of building the superstructure, managing, operating, exploiting, maintaining and re-delivery of the container terminal at Berth 100 in Dekheila with the (Hutcheson – MSC) alliance. .

This comes within the framework of the state’s plan to develop Egyptian ports, to make Egypt a global center for trade and logistics, by exploiting its strategic location on the Red and Mediterranean Bahrain, and on the way to shipping lines and international trade, to serve Egyptian exports and open new markets for them. The plan includes developing the port of Sokhna to be the largest pivotal port. On the Red Sea, and planning it to match the latest international ports, through the construction of 4 new docks and berths with a length of 18 km and a depth of 18 m, trading yards with an area of ​​9.6 million square meters, and commercial and logistic areas with an area of ​​5.3 km2, as well as developing berth 100 at Dekheila Port, by constructing a berth with a length of 1800 m, a depth of 18 m, an area of ​​660,000 m2, and a capacity of 1.5 million TEUs.
